About Me
First, I wish to thank you for visiting my website. I hope you have enjoyed the visit.
In the early 1980s my Dad purchased a Pentax K1000. Whenever he wanted to use his camera, he had to find me to find his Pentax! So, I purchased my own & returned his camera to him.
After I was married, my interest in photography waned for several years. Then in 2006, I purchased a Sony DSC-H1 "glorified" point & shoot - and my interest in photography was rekindled.
In the summer of 2008, after doing my first two weddings (within two weeks), I realized I wanted to have more creative control. In November 2008 I purchased a DSLR camera, a Sony Alpha 350. And then I found out that I had to LEARN photography. At a friend's suggestion, I purchased a wonderful book that opened me up to more than shooting with the presets! That book is "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson.
I also realized that I wanted to be consistent in the quality of my photography art & work. I decided to seek out a course of study. So, in the Spring of 2011, I started my course in "Professional Photography" at the New York Institute of Photography. I have learned so much in this course. It challenges me & makes me think about the photographs I take. I love this course.
In November 2013, I was blessed to purchase a Sony SLT alpha 99 full frame camera, with battery grip & external flash. I also was blessed to upgrade my Adobe Photoshop Lightroom from version 3 to version 5. I am truly excited about this upgrade to my photography equipment.
My husband teases me about my passion for photography. He likes to share, "My wife doesn't have a lot of shoes or clothes, but she has camera equipment!" I like to tell him, "The more photos I take, the less money I'll spend!" I said that to him when we went to Hawaii in 2010, but it didn't work!
I live in Central Indiana. I am married to a most wonderful man, who loves Jesus. Besides photography, I love gardening (but not weeding), writing music & playing my instruments. My husband & I are active in our Church. He is the Worship leader & I play my violin, soprano recorder, & the Ukulele (purchased in Hawaii). And we now have a furry addition to our family: I inherited my Mother's big kitty cat, Mason.
