I couldn't resist showing one sample photo of the happy, blessed couple.
Saturday, July 27th, Ron Ford & Dede Miller were married. I was so blessed to photograph their wedding & their families.

the Bride-to-be
Tuesday evening, July 9th, several ladies gathered at the Sassafras Lunch & Tea Room in Greenwood for a bridal shower for Dede. We had a wonderful meal, dessert & fellowship. It is wonderful to see the Lord Jesus' blessings on Dede. Trying out her new beach hat! Wishing Dede & Ron a wonderful life together in Jesus! To view all 22 photos of the shower, please use this link: http://drmrsy.smugmug.com/Friends/Dedes-Bridal-Shower/30469797_K7P9M7 The first half of December was busy, but in a different way. I spent the first two weeks at my Mom's while she was sick. So, all my photography projects were on hold. I was able to study for & take my Unit 4 test, while I was there. I was blessed with 100% test score. Now, to do my photo assignments for Unit 4 Portraiture. Married ! I have shared about Chris & Leone's wedding in past posts. I worked on their photos during the month of November. I enjoyed photographing their special day. And, no matter how much experience I have, I always learn when I get use my camera & when I edit. Thanks, Chris & Leone for letting me be a part of your special day. My Brother-in-law made me a table top "studio" stand. It is great for taking photos of small things with a seamless back ground. So, I set it up next to my south facing windows, put the poster board on it for my seamless back ground & used my violin as my subject. It's special to me, since it was a gift from Jesus. (And it sounds much better than it looks!) To view the photos of my violin us this link: http://drmrsy.smugmug.com/Photography/My-Violin/26724853_9KDQtX While I was at my Mom's, I took my gear & table top set up. My Mom has her mother's Hummel figurines & I photographed them one day. Also, one of my photo assignments is to take a portrait of a pet or child. Well, Mom has a "giant" cat, so why not try? Mason didn't quite understand the posing part. I think a little child would be easier to work with! As soon as I have the figurine photos ready, I'll share them with you. Maui Palm Tree - view of Lanai Is. I have started working on vacation photos again. I didn't take as many photos as I thought I would while we were there. I didn't always have my camera with me. After a busy August & September, then the wedding a few days before we left for Maui, it was nice to relax & be lazy. I'll share when I get them finished! I have had fun editing & learning something new along the way. Wanting to refresh my memory about one effect, I opened my "manual" for Lightroom 3. As I looked, I found this - the spotlight effect. I love this effect. In this photograph, I wanted to show the Bride's contemplation on her wonderful wedding day. I also have had fun trying different types of looks. I have experimented with the Lightroom & Pretty Presets I have. I know it has slowed me down in my editing process, but I just can't help myself! I am very thankful that Chris & Leone gave me the opportunity to photograph them & to be a part of their wedding day. Blessings to you all, today! The end of September & the first week of October was very busy! I had a wedding to shoot just a few days before my hubby & I left for Maui. This was a fun challenge! After we returned, I took a week off before starting on the wedding photos. I really didn't have much of a choice, since my body demanded rest with jet lag & then a cold! This is the groom's oldest brother, Tim, his wife Stephanie & their son, Judah. Judah did a great job as one of the bridal party. It was fun to photograph this family. I've known Tim since he was pretty young. And I remember when Steph was born. To see them together & with their son is a big blessing. Another beautiful family I photographed was the Muhl family. I've know Dean & Tammy for years, too. Dean is the pastor at the Church the Bride & Groom attend. It is fun to watch their children grow up. I couldn't resist & edited ONE photo I took in Maui. This was just after the sun set. I love the colors of the sky & clouds. The island in the background is Lana'i. The view was so beautiful, that the days we relaxed on the beach, I didn't read anything I brought. I just enjoyed looking at the view - Lana'i & Moloka'i, & all the boats. And here we are, just before going out to dinner & to see a show about the history & mythology of Hawaii. The musicians & dancers were amazing. I find that I need to practice taking "self" portraits with our little Olympus camera. It's not as easy as the kids make it seem! We had a good time, but it was hard to come home! I did enjoy my own bed once we got home! So, now, I must get busy on all the photos, so I can get to my studies & photo projects for school! The morning of Chris & Leone's wedding day on October 6th dawned bright & cool - a beautiful day for a wedding. The day before, it was a wash out with rain that never seemed to stop! The Lord blessed. The Bride was beautiful. The Groom was handsome. The ceremony was a blessing. The fellowship was sweet. I couldn't resist editing a few photos just to "see" how they came out. In a couple of weeks, I will start working on the photographs in earnest. So, until then, enjoy these! |
