The first week of June, I was able to take photos of my friend's swans. I enjoyed having them as "subjects" though they didn't pose for me! The reflections & rippling of the water were fun to work with, too.
The white pair are Royal English Mute swans. Their names are Will & Kate. My friend hopes that they will produce offspring next year.
The other pair are known as Black or Australian Black swans. In keeping with the "royal" theme, they are named Phillip & Elizabeth.
There are 7 species of swans in the world, five are white, one is black & white & one is "all" black. The Black swans are not as large as the Royal English Mute swans, but make up for it in "attitude." It was quite interesting to learn about the Black swan.
